With the improvement of living standards, the speed of clothing renewal is accelerating, and more and more old clothes are discarded or idle at home. Most of these clothes have become garbage and are transported to landfills or incinerated. This treatment method has caused serious damage to the environment. According to surveys, my country produces nearly 40 million tons of waste textiles annually, most of which are old clothes discarded by residents. These old clothes have become huge "indoor pollutants" and put great pressure on the environment. Recycling methods for old clothes 1. Environmentally friendly recycling The old clothes such as cotton wool, nylon, polyester, acrylic, etc. that can be used for recycling are handed over to professional environmentally friendly recycling factories. Through physical methods, they are opened and combed, processed into agricultural insulation materials, construction and industrial sound insulation materials, filling materials, etc., and chemically decomposed into polyester fibers through chemical methods, and remade into recycled fabrics. 2. Export of old clothes Some wearable summer clothes are exported to some poor countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, etc. after cleaning and sterilization. 3. Environmentally friendly recycling The remaining clothes that do not meet the donation standards or the export requirements, and meet the standards for recycled fiber raw materials, will be made into recycled textiles in the civilian field, such as recycled fabrics, labor gloves, mops, bow ties, vests, outerwear, etc.; those that do not meet the standards for textile-grade raw materials will be made into recycled textiles in the industrial field, such as sound insulation cotton, thermal insulation cotton, filter screens, cover cloth, roadbed cloth, etc. We need both mountains of gold and silver and green mountains and clear waters. Let us take action, start from our own side, actively respond to the call of the General Secretary, and contribute more to the development of the national environmental protection cause and the realization of the national strategic goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality!
