Camel hair fiber, a new type of fiber, is the hair collected from camels. Camel hair fiber is slender, soft to the touch, strong in warmth retention, no shrinkage, no caking, durable, easy to wash, and no fading. Inner Mongolia's camel hair production, fineness, length, and color are world-renowned. The camel hair produced in Alxa League is of the best quality, commonly known as "Royal Palace Camel Hair". Hohhot is the main distribution center for camel hair in Inner Mongolia. Camel hair is strong in keeping out the cold, and is strong and durable. It can be used to fill clothes and quilts, weave woolen cloth, and weave carpets. 01. Characteristics of camel hair fiber (1) Strong resilience (2) Not easy to deform (3) Uniform hair quantity (4) Light, soft, fluffy and smooth (5) High warmth retention (6) Good moisture insulation (7) Good hygroscopicity (8) Strong moisture resistance (9) Good air permeability (10) More durable Thanks to these characteristics, camel hair fiber can reduce the pressure on the human body and improve problems such as high body temperature and arrhythmia. It has excellent physical therapy and health care effects on waist and leg pain, especially for arthritis, periarthritis of shoulder, heart disease, cervical spondylosis and hypertension patients. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for use by the elderly and children and in cold and damp areas. 02. Methods for identifying camel hair fiber (1) Visual inspection method High-quality camel hair fibers are long and shiny, and the hair colors are apricot yellow, brown red, silver gray, white, etc. The relatively poor camel hair is black and coarse. If fake camel hair is made of wool scraps, the hair fibers are generally very short, about 3-4 cm, and relatively coarse. If it is faked by various types of chemical fibers, you can observe it under the sun. Generally, chemical fibers will shine brightly under the sun. In addition, some fake camel hair has a lot of impurities and dust, and because the raw materials are not clean, there is a foul smell and no dampness. (2) Hand feel method High-quality camel hair feels soft, elastic, and dry. Fake camel hair generally has poor hand feel and elasticity, and some even feel damp. (3) Boiling water soaking method Take an appropriate amount of water to soak or boil for a few minutes. Real camel hair will not fade. If it is fake camel hair, it will fade after being dyed and the water will also be camel-colored. (4) Burning method This is to distinguish between hair and chemical fibers. Take a small amount of hair and burn it with fire. The camel hair will smoke and bubble, and there will be a smell similar to burning hair. After burning, there will be a lot of ash and it will form shiny black brittle blocks that will break when twisted by hand. Fake camel hair is usually mixed with various chemical fibers, which have special smells when burning, such as acetic acid smell of viscose fiber, celery smell of nylon, pungent smell of acrylic fiber, aromatic smell of polyester, etc. In addition, after burning, except for viscose fiber which becomes gray-white powder, others are generally black lumps, which are not easy to crush by hand.
